Hunter Scholar Award

Integration of Learning Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward a faculty member who works directly with the Student Affairs Division to promote the integration of teaching with activities within the division to achieve student learning outcomes consistent with the mission of the Student Affairs Division and Western’s teaching and learning mission.  The award is $1,500 and is given out annually.

Microgrants
Mcrogrants promote quality teaching by providing funds to support travel, subsistence, and registration/tuition expense associated with workshop attendance, short course participation, mini-internships, and other off-campus activities related to teaching improvement.

Program of Excellence Award
The academic and support program of excellence awards are separate $10,000 awards which are presented to an academic department and a support unit or department to recognize established records of excellence. Units and/or departments may apply or be nominated for these awards if sufficient merit or excellence is determined.

Provost's Instructional Improvement Grant
This grant provides modest support for innovative projects aimed at improving the quality and effectiveness of instruction within a single course or group of related courses. Individual faculty members or groups of faculty may apply.

QEP Faculty Development Grant

Scholarly Development Assignment Program
This program provides faculty members the opportunity to pursue full-time independent study, including graduate or post graduate study, research, or creative work.  Applicants must be full-time faculty members with tenure and must have completed six years of full-time service to the university.

Visiting Scholar Program
This program provides funding for departments to bring national/ international scholars to campus. Proposals will be considered on a first come, first served basis, although priority will be given to departments that did not participate last year.
