Find Articles
Here are some online databases you can use to find journal articles.  Many link directly to online journals at WCU, UNCA, and ASU. See also the listing in Anthropology Databases.

Abstracts in Anthropology (2001-present)
Although the interface is a bit limited, this is a good resource for searching anthropology and archaeology articles.  The Library also has a subscription to this resource in print going back to 1970.

Anthropology Index of the Royal Anthropological Institute (1950-present)
Based on the holdings at the British Museum.  While this resource does not link to Hunter Library’s holdings, the brief entries are an excellent source for scholarly article citations.  Just put the title (usually in italics in this resource) for the journal, book, or other material that contains the article into the Library catalog to find out if we have it.

eHRAF Ethnography
A cross-cultural database that contains full-text information on world cultures. This database supplements the Library microfiche collection of world cultures.  A tutorial on the use of this database is also available.

SocINDEX with Fulltext (1895-present)
This is a major research database for sociology and also indexes many major anthropology journals.

Academic Search Premier (Index: 1984-, full-text: 1990-)
Interdisciplinary, and includes anthropology and archaeology.  Indexes 3200 journals, most of them scholarly, 1700 of them peer-reviewed.  Full-text for 1000+ journals.
