Research Assistant Program (RAP)
Do not know where to start on your research? Cannot find what you are looking for? You can request a one-on-one session with me.
What can I do for you?
During a RAP session I can teach you how to use, locate and select the most appropriate material for your assignment, research, presentation etc. These sessions are specifically geared to your needs. Please call/email at least two days before you want to meet.
Services for Distance Learners
Go to Not in Cullowhee? to read about useful tips and assistance from the library and librarians.
For technology requirements, downloads and help go to Student Computing
For Faculty
What is it? It teaches how to find and use resources your students will need in your class. Library instruction sessions are geared for whole classes and are requested by faculty. The sessions are tailored to specific course assignments and/or topics.
What can I do for you? I can show your students how to use a specific database, index, resource etc. You can bring the students to the library, or I can come to your class (the room needs to have Internet wireless connectivity and a projection screen).
Information Literacy Integration
What is it? The concepts and techniques used in library instruction are integrated in the curriculum and course objectives. With information literacy the students get a broader understanding on how to find and use information.
What can I do for you? I can integrate, develop and assess the information literacy component.
Please send me an email, call me at (828) 227 3398 to make a request or find out more about library instruction and information literacy integration.
Collection Development Requests
If you are an instructor in a department of the Visual & Performing Arts you can send me requests of material for purchase to go in the library's collection. All you have to do is to send me an email with the titles or a list using the intercampus mail. Let me know if you have any questions.
Look at the services we offer in Hunter Library.
