Musical Theatre Program Curriculum

Musical theatre students gather around the piano

The musical theatre program is divided into three major areas of study: voice, theatre, and dance.

Admittance to WCU’s Musical Theatre Program is by audition only.

Upon admittance students must select from one of two degree tracks: The Bachelor of Music Degree in Musical Theatre through the School of Music or the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a concentration in Musical Theater through the Department of Stage and Screen. Both degrees emphasize the core components of singing, dance, and acting.

Bachelor of Music (B.M.)

Read the B.M.’s major and concentration requirements and curriculum guide

Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.)

Complementary Minor

Looking to complement your major and add to your skills base? A minor in dance is a good fit for either of the degree options above.
